Questions & Answers

You’re in the right place. Here are answers to the questions families ask most often.

How do I reserve a Queenie baby?

Our application process is broken down into several steps:

1. An initial inquiry form is filled out (located at the bottom of this page).

2. A House of Queenie staff member will reach out to you for a short informal interview.

3. A second, more formal application form will be then required, including an application fee.

4. If accepted, you will then be required to pay a $500 non-refundable deposit, and be put onto the wait list. This deposit holds your place and goes toward the total price of your baby.

I prayerfully consider each home and work to match every puppy with the family that fits them best. These little ones are a blessing, and I take that responsibility seriously.

How much are Queenie puppies?

Pricing typically ranges:

Boys: $3,500 - $3,800

Girls: $3,800 - $4,000

Occasionally, very tiny babies or rare colors may be slightly higher. Each Queenie baby is raised with exceptional care, early socialization, and a whole lot of love.

When can my puppy come home?

Puppies usually go to their forever homes between 8-9 weeks of age. This time allows them to grow strong with their mama, learn early puppy manners, and receive their first vet care before joining your family.

How are your puppies raised?

Our puppies are raised in our home, not in kennels. They are surrounded by everyday life, handled daily, and loved from the moment they arrive. We begin early socialization so they grow into confident, affectionate companions.

Do you provide vet care before puppies go home?

Yes. Every Queenie puppy receives: Age-appropriate deworming, a wellness check by our veterinarian, and a health record to take home. Our goal is to send home a happy, healthy baby ready to thrive.

Do you match puppies or do families choose?

A little bit of both. Families share what they are hoping for, and once personalities begin to develop, I help guide matches. I spend every day with these babies, so I often know which puppy will thrive best with which family. I truly believe God brings the right people and puppies together.

What do puppies go home with?

Your Queenie baby will go home with a Special Gift Package including:

- Health record
- AKC Registration
- Vet Records, Weight & Worming Info
- Puppy Care Guidance
- Treats
- Quilted Pee Pad & Paper Pads
- Scented Blanket from the playpen & familiar toys
- New Blanket
- Water Bottle
- Starter Food
- Blanket with Mama's scent.

Many families say they feel like they are bringing home a tiny piece of our heart.

Do you stay in touch after puppies go home?

Absolutely. Once you adopt a Queenie baby, you are part of our extended family. I love seeing updates and watching these little ones grow. Many families stay connected through our Queenie community and social pages.

What kind of homes are you looking for?

We look for loving, committed homes where these puppies will be cherished as family members. Shih Tzus thrive on companionship, and we want each puppy placed in a home where they will receive the attention and care they deserve.

What if I am not ready for a puppy right now?

That is perfectly okay. Following along with Queenie's journey is a wonderful way to learn more about the breed and stay informed about future litters. We have many Mommies who are on the waitlist ensuring the time is right for them. When the time is right, we will be here.
